POSITION: Disability Educator and Advocate (Attleboro) Status: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Prevention Education and Outreach HOURS: 35 hours/week REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Community Impact and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion BASE SALARY: $22-23.50/hr (differential pay if candidate speaks one or more of the top languages spoken in our service area) SCOPE OF WORK: Provide immediate and ongoing advocacy services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence specializing in survivors living with disabilities. Work collaboratively with other New Hope staff and community providers to ensure comprehensive support and safety options to survivors and their families through our 24/7 crisis hotline and housing advocacy programs. Coordinate and collaborate with the Arc of Bristol County to implement programmatic change to better serve survivors living with disabilities. It is expected that the advocate’s job performance will incorporate the practice and promotion of New Hope’s core values, which include respect, teamwork, empowerment and professionalism. This is a grant funded position through September 30th, 2026, without guaranteed reapplication of the grant. PRIMARY DUTIES: Collaborate with the Arc of Bristol County to develop curriculum and collateral materials and provide trainings around providing trauma-informed, accessible services and support to survivors of sexual and domestic violence living with disabilities. Under the supervision of the manager of community advocacy, work collaboratively to provide coverage of hotline in coordination with the advocacy team Support as back up coordinator for our SANE medical advocacy program including organization and community outreach to hospitals. Provide SANE coverage a minimum of 2 shifts per month/backup as required Assist in the review of agency and department policies and practice through a disabilities access lens. Complete client service intakes and walk-in intervention with immediate support around their safety as directed by manager of community advocacy. Assess and assist clients with paperwork to facilitate client access to financial and/or housing support. Represent New Hope at various community collaborations, tablings, and trainings to bring information and resources back to programs/staff around best practices for serving survivors living with disabilities; conduct internal trainings to staff as appropriate. Attend regular department team meetings as well as all-staff meetings Attend weekly one-on-one supervision with senior director of community impact and diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as regular meetings with advocacy, education teams, and manager of community advocacy. Ensure data is submitted promptly and accurately in accordance with state requirements. Complete other tasks as requested by manager of community advocacy and senior director of community impact and diversity, equity, and inclusion. PM24ResponsibilitiesThe Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care program provide services for youth with emotional challenges and/or multistressed families. The scope of services includes flexible individualized treatment, rehabilitation, supervision, and support that vary in intensity, depending on youth and family needs. The services are delivered by a core team of staff using a Wraparound Philosophy support which helps family, support members, and service providers work together to support the family or child. In addition, all services are delivered using a Trauma Informed Care approach. The Outreach Counselor will provide an average of three to four hours of direct support weekly to each assigned family. Services will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each youth and family served, providing opportunity to maximize their ability to spend time together at home and in the community. Responsibilities include: To provide advocacy and outreach services to assigned caseload of youth and their families, in individual or family's home and community To monitor Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) for all youth and families that supports their capacity for growth and change To establish and set appropriate limits and boundaries as a practitioner in order to assure the safety and protection of the family members and maintain the helping role of the practitioner To provide support and structure to individual and families while monitoring their progress towards completion of service goals To transport individuals in a safe manner in matters related to service delivery To provide on-call emergency coverage as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
